New Jersey Family Day of Service

Join the Movement on May 21st–23rd!

New Jersey Family Day of Service is a day of service that celebrates the power of families who work together to support their neighbors and neighborhoods. Each year, thousands of families use the day to teach children valuable real-life lessons about compassion and caring. Volunteering also can be a great way for kids and adults to develop skills, learn more about their community and make friends. Whether your passion is the environment, caring for animals, literacy, women & children, or even if you have your own idea, your family can be part of this tradition.

This web platform was conceived in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.  Tens of thousands of individuals reached out to help, but there was no consolidated resource to capture all of the ways people could assist.  HelpNJNow was designed to connect resources with up to date community needs in order to best respond to disasters.  This site was built and is maintained by a partnership between New Jersey Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NJVOAD), the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management (NJOEM) and the Governor’s Office of Volunteerism.  Contact us if you are having difficulty with this site or have comments or resources to improve the site.
